Love & Kindness
Probably when you were a child you had an experience of somebody
sharing something with you: a toy, food, a dream, antics, a pencil, even a half
of stick of gum! Everybody has had some of these similar experiences in our
childhood. Maybe, once upon a time you felt something about it. Perhaps
pleasurable feelings about that person, or maybe they felt something for you.
You started to notice how wonderful the feeling is of somebody sharing
something with you and also you started to learn to share with others as well.
If you bring some childhood memories just right now about
this, maybe, you bring family experiences, this is our great school, as a many
experts have referred to it. Like them, I agree!
Since you were born, nobody explained to you the concept of
love. Just your parents or any caregiver who took care of you, they did it.
They nurtured you in your basic needs, and provided you the safety and security
that you needed. However, some of you probably did not get the same learning
about love. Nevertheless, you have found the way to build your own concept of
love through your own life, that is why you are here!
Wherever your concept of love is, I would like to put
emphasis on your own way to express and practice self love and self compassion in
this present moment.
Just do these two simple things as soon as you can:
!. Take a comfortable seat in a
safe and secure place, at some time during your day.
2. After a couple of deep breaths,
notice every part of your body, how does it feel? Then notice your mind, where
are your thoughts? Then put your right hand over your heart. Can you listen to what
your heart says?
The power of these exercises, is your own intention to
discover and expand more love and kindness. They can teach you, day by day, if
you take time to practice, how to develop more love and kindness to yourself.
You will be exploring love, creating time to do it, and also when you do it you
create kindness. Very soon, you are going to see the benefits in your
relationship with yourself and others. Every day brings us the opportunity to
be aware of our self love when we see our mistakes, negative thoughts, body
pain or illness.
Learning about self love never is too late and never is finished.
Learning about kindness opens the door of respect to ourselves.
If you are looking for change in your expressions of love
and kindness, all that you need is to start the change. How? Like when you were
a child, with small steps. Practice these two exercises everyday and keep in
mind that they work differently for everybody. Your journey is only yours!
Being love and kindness to yourself is a good beginning!
Love & Kindness,
--Ana
